South Island road trip – Milford Sound and Fiordland

There really isn’t anyway to describe the awe inspiring beauty of Fiordland and the Milford Sound area.  Photos cannot capture the huge cliffs and crags so I didn’t even try – I leave that to Peter Jackson and the Lord of the Rings movies.

It was my first time to see the mountain daisy .. which was almost at the end of its bloom.        Mitre Peak was looking good in the early morning light and before the wind muddled the waters.  Hollyford River was in fine form, and in the pools, the water was crystal clear.
