South Island road trip – Otago

As I moved through Otago,  there were some unexpected moments that caught my eye;

  • A hungry calf separated from its mother,
  • A young  shepherd training her pack of dogs ahead of the next big muster,
  • A goat farm on top of a high hill, in amongst the slowly degrading ruins of a gold mining town,
  • A storm coming in across farmland settled by tough pioneers who built homes of sod and stone that have been weathered to a ruin after a hundred years of harsh winters and lashing gales.
